Borla exhaust?

I didn't order my truck that way,but when I was looking for a corsa exhaust ran across a guy on here who is a borla exhaust rep with the company called him directly picked up a GM sport muffler from him only had to cut out factory welded borla in! Sounds amazing if u turn off V-4 other wise any muffler u put on sounds crappy I compare the sound to a person drivin a standard tran vehicle going from 2nd to 6th it a crappy lugging noise! Factory muffler has a new back pressure gate on rear of muffler that keeps it from sounding that way!

I am looking at a catback system from my Gm dealer made by Borla, he says that the one i could order from him would come with the flapper valve built in to the pipe. According to him the lack of that valve/ flap is what causes the droning noise when it switches to V4 mode. Is his theory correct?

That seems to be the cause. There is a thread here somewhere about a Corsa exhaust causing drone and they never droned one bit on previous trucks so that leads me to think that goofy flapper is pretty important to all this.

You are correct about the Borla system offered by GM has the exhaust valve. It's also 300 dollars more though, just thought I'd throw that out there. That's the price of a used Diablo intune, just saying......

Hey all, I will have the Borla model 140537 (dual rear exit, ATAK) tomorrow. Going on a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L. A bit apprehensive about how aggressive the sound will be but I will post a video hopefully this weekend if anyone is interested.

I got the exhaust installed tonight. It is aggressive...but it does sound great. The build quality and grade of stainless steel is top notch. As a side note, this is my second 2014 GMC Sierra...first one had a Flowmaster Force 2 system on it. Within a year the pipes were showing signs of oxidation and rust. Overall was an ok system and it was slightly quieter than the Borla, as well as about $300 cheaper. The Borla system came with the 4" polished stainless tips welded on. Was a nice touch. So, 4 hours in, the additional money spent was well worth it! From a quality perspective, you cannot beat the Borla system.

Flowmaster metal quality is horrible. They offer nice sound but that's all. My 2003 had the tailpipes from their system rust badly enough that they fell off.

Can't wait to get my borla sport on, if and when you Greg a minute I would like to see a sound clip for your atak!

Wow that's a nice aggressive sound. Looks like you have a leveling/ lift kit on there too.
