96 k3500 dually frame swap help

I have to do a frame swap on ny 96 k3500 dually 4x4 due to the frame being bent from an accident I was in . Does the frame have to be from a 3500 or can it be from a 2500 ?

How bad is the frame bent? I have a friend that has a body shop that has pulled hundreds of frames. The last time that I stopped in to see him he had a dodge ram on the rack. It had come from another body shop that tried to pull it. The other body shop did more damage to the frame than the accident did. I would check with a good body shop and see what they thought. Remember I said a "Good Body Shop". Oh! I think he charged the other body shop 2 or 2 1/2 hours to pull the frame.

It's bent right behind the drivers side controll arm where it dips under the cab went to 4 different shops they all said its a really bad spot they don't wanna chance pulling it and it not working

I want to save this truck its only got 100 k on it

Too bad. I have seen several like that. It seems like that is one of the weak spots. If the frame tech was good and he has a good frame machine he should be able to pull it. Like I said in my earlier post some of these body shops do more damage than they fix. Their is a difference in knowing what you are doing. And thinking you know what you are doing. The friend of mine that has the body shop has 2 big Chief frame machines. One is for heavy duty work. By your description trucks hit like yours the horns go up and the frame goes down at the dip. I have seen him fix several like that. Its a complicated pull but can be done if you know what you are doing. Anyway if you have a good salvage yard in your area they should be able to cross reference your vehicle and tell you what other frames that would be compatible with yours and should be able to locate one or more depending on the availability.
