"Locked Out" of my own Truck -_-

So I have a brand new 2014 Sierra 1500, Base model, V* 5.3L, Crew Cab, Standard Box..didn't come with a remote start or keyless entry, dealer tells me I need to go to a after market place, for some reason they wouldn't do it I don't know they were being weird on the issue, so I bring my truck to a place and get it done, they said they have done it many times as it was a common thing they did, they have even already did a few 2014's..the technician doing it was having trouble getting the computer in the truck to accept it or something, turns out the anti theft system kicked in and we were "Locked Out" of the truck, even after putting all the wires back to normal and using the key the truck would not start, its like these new trucks are designed so no one besides GM can work on them, but yet GM doesn't want to touch aftermarket stuff, ended up having to leave the truck their overnight because GM could not look at it until the net day and my new truck with only 200km on it has to get towed to the dealership, anyone else have any problems like this? what is with GM and being sketchy about doing after market stuff? Kia did it for me no problem they just had me sign something saying these parts were not under warranty and that's obvious, has anyone else had issues like this and has anyone had GM install aftermarket parts for them? so that was my day, from 830-430 sitting and waiting for a damn remote start to finally get me locked out of my own truck. thanks for reading.

It's probably up to individual dealers to make that choice based on liability concerns and training on aftermarket stuff.

how in the hell does a vehicle manufactured in 2014 e not come standard with keyless entry.....even if its the base model. its 2014....every car should have that standard.
