UPD INTAKE

Recommended Posts

Just installed a UPD air intake last night.  I am very happy

with the results.  Installation was easy and quick and I didn't

have to modify the fan shroud.  The truck definitly has better

throttle responce and accerlation is quicker.  I definitly recommend it, money well spent.  :)

Congrats,

I had been debating between the UPD and the Volant. I am leaning toward the UPD because of ease of installation and the ease of going back to stock if needed.

Did you get the black, or did you go somehting different?

let us know on how you like it

I may be ordering very soon

How has that worked for you???  I tried that but got engine pinging on wide open throttle...of course this was right after install but I put the K&N in with it.

I like the seemingly better throttle response and much nicer "growl" but it seems that my mileage has dropped a bit...sems worth the money but if I did it over, I would either get the clear, smoke or black plastic...I have the fake carbon fiber and it is okay but I haven't jazzed up underneath the hood very much so no one ses it but me (sounds like the Chevy commercial, eh???) :D        :thumb:

The computer probably had to get used to the new breathing. On my vette, my computer had to "re learn".

Ryan, why did you go stock air filter instead of K&N? Am I missing something?

C'mon...sound quality increases...sounds like it's s'posed to.

throttle response appears to be better...my mileage has suffered but just a lil bit...I think you will be happy with it...check the deals...I got the K&N for 10 or 20 bux more...it was worth it.

I have a Donaldson Blackwing on my 'Vette...I like their quality better and I think they make our stock airboxes (pop up notification to change or clean filter, their idea) but I can't seem to find where they sell their filters for trux...I have sent e-mail to their website only to get a phone number to call and no help...says they have nowhere in the Chicagoland area that sells their filters...I find that hard to believe.

Anyway...have at it! :thumb:  :)  :flag:  :flag:  :nono:  :hail:
