door molding

my door moldings are looking pretty bad on my black 08 silverado. If i take them off now, being 6 years old, how much of a difference do you think ill have in the paint thats been covered and the rest of the truck?

Had mine repainted under warranty....didn't take long for them to start looking pitted and faded. I would think there would be a possible shadow, or imprint from the backing tape.....might be better off painting them (IMO)

I was hoping to have them removed and go with the smooth look.

Im in the same boat mine look awful... was thinking of painting flat black (plasti dip ) to see how i like it
