Hey all! I currently have a 2007 2500 hd work truck that runs a 8.2' v blade boss vxt, my truck has 267,000 on it and they're replacing them with half tons for those who don't plow(we plow cell sites for verizon in Michigan) will a 1/2 ton push this plow? I've told them for what we do it needs another 3/4 ton so they've been weighing their options, any advice on this matter?

No. Buy a 2500hd for that blade. The only 1/2 ton truck from GM that can even get plow prep on it is a regular cab short or long box, 4x4, and is limited to 500lbs plow weight. That Boss VXT is 785-795lbs steel/poly. 2500hd with plow prep is rated for 900-1000lbs plow weight depending on cab and engine.

^^^ +1. I wouldn't dare push a half-ton like that these days, unless you've got deep pockets and lots of time to spend under the truck fixing the driveline ...

A half ton will get torn up with that big of a plow... From the trans to the front end components.. Get a truck that's meant to heavy duty plowing. If they are worried about cost tell them to get RCLB WT's
