Just wondering how many fella's in here work away from home and live in work camps?

 

If so, where you work? What do you do? What type of schedule do you work? Offshore guys?

 

I work 14 on 14 off in Fort Mcmurray, Alberta and fly back to northwestern ontario where I own a home. I stay at an executive lodge called BlackSands, basically like a decent hotel...

I think he means military deployments. I'm gone for work a fair amount, up to 10 days at a time or so. I'm kinda used to it, most have to do something for a little cash.

From the mid 80s to the early 2000s 10 on 2 off pipeline rows. Clearing and mowing with machines we built called Treeaters. Before you state hating it had to be done by law, so you could watch for leaks by air. Electric rows too. Stayed in fifth wheel campers. Sold the clearing biss, now build and repair for others. Now do training and sales, stay in hotels when I travel. Miss the old days in the machine clearing ROWs, sometimes I help my customers out if they get short handed just to relive the old days.
