WOW - Ford Ratings

I've read every post in this thread thus far...there's alot of questioning about why we would buy one brand versus another, and many posters are talking about power and torque as a selling feature. And as you would expect the whole diesel engine thing comes into play now that RAM has one in the 1500 truck.

I traded a RAM 1500 Big Horn 5.7l Hemi in on my Sierra, I had actually ordered a 2014 RAM 1500 Ecodiesel Outdoorsman but after 4 months and no show I walked away. I also was getting serious attitude from the RAM dealer...kinda like he figured his truck was the ONLY truck.

Once I found myself on the GMC lot I began to feel as though I had just taken a step up...a step up in fit & finish, and a step up in overall quality. I spent similar time on the Ford lot, took an Eco-boost out, but being in the field of Mechanical Engineering I have serious concerns about "heat" over the short and long term. Further I felt the same way about the Ford as I did about the RAM - GIMMICKS!!!

So I went back to the GMC lot and test drove a number of Sierras, in fact I visited 3 GMC dealers. With each test drive I became more comfortable with the Sierra, every time I lifted the hood or closed a door or opened the tailgate, I felt better. For sure these are my opinions, but it began to feel to me like RAM and Ford were drawing folks in with gimmicks and features, the GMC and Chevrolet product seems based on sound engineering, excellent manufacturing, and outstanding assembly.

So...now I spend less on fuel then I did with the Hemi, but I spend more then I would have if I had waited for the Ecodiesel. But I don't care, it's been a very long time since I enjoyed driving a vehicle as much as I enjoy my Sierra, and the pride of ownership is over the top.

And once I get it lifted....
