Not a bad price at all.

I got a few cases a few months ago when they went on sale for that same price at meier.  I am waiting a few wks to do my next oil change (to darn cold).  Hopeflly over spring break itll be warm.  I am still under the 3K miles but i have had the oil in for about 3 months

oh yea another way to get oil and other stuff cheaper is to make friends with someone at walmart/kmart

My gf works at kmart and i get to reap the benefits of her 10% discount.

Only 3k for Mobil One.....   You should use the cheap .79 stuff.  Save your money.  I go between 6k to 10k.

Peace.

Is that the regular or synthetic stuff? I'm gonna change my oil tomorrow. First time to use Mobil 1.

Amen to that.  Better safe than sorry.  Blue's going to be with me a while.

Has anyone ever had an oil and/or filter related engine problem/failure when using dino oil at 3000 mile intervals? I never have. Until a few years ago, I have always purchased used vehicles with 50k miles or more on the odometer and have always changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles. I have driven these vehicles until the bodies started falling off with >100k miles. One Chevy truck with a 350cid needed an engine overhaul and clutch at 117k miles. Clutch was original!

I completely agree and if the vehicle is mostly highway use I've never changed oil/filter before 6k. I use Mobil 1 in the truck and my 80k mile Caravan only because it makes me feel good, I don't really think it is necessary.  It is required in the Vette because of the higher engine temperatures.  Going against manufacturers specs on viscosity is not wise.

10w30 in the summer.  5w30 in winter (less than 40 degress).

Word, i wouldnt use 5W30 unless you live in really cold winter areas.
