XM Radio compatible with 2M/440?

My new vehicle ('03 Silverado 2500HD LT Duramax/Allison) came equipped with Bose XM Satellite radio.  In the literature it makes some vague warning about damage from radio transmitters.  I suspect this might just be some lawyers CYA boilerplate, but wonder if any of the gathered multitude have run XM radio and UHF/VHF ham radio in their vehicles?

Yes, I installed it, and it works just fine.  No interference to the factory installed XM-radio.  I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but the 2M/440 antenna is mounted at the middle rear of the cab roof, and the XM antenna is at the front right corner of the roof.  The radio is an Icom 2720, 50W, and I have it mounted on the left hand rear seat support.  Control head is just under the dual-climate-control knobs.

Yeah I can see the antennas.I have been thinking about throwing in the Icom 706mkIIg in there somewhere. Great rig

although I only use it on 6m at the base. Good luck w/the new truck. Looks great.

I have a 706-MKIIG in my RV.  Works good.

Blacksilver,

Do you have any pics of your radio install or a closer one of your antenna mount.? I bit the bullet on a two week old truck and popped a hole in the center of the roof for a 1/4 wave larsen dual band that lets me pull in and out of the garage without hitting.  Right now I have a FT-90 mounted between the steering wheel and the center console under the dash right above my leg.  It works great but was eyeing up the 2720.  Also, looking at that same spot to locate it as you did.  Or might go with a '706.  Since you did a remote mount what did you do for a speaker?

Thanks.

Trying to get my list together for the Dayton Hamvention this year!
