Outdoor temp?

My 2013 Sierra has an outdoor temp sensor but the software in the dash display is not set up to show it. I know it has the sensor because it will tell me when the temp drops to 35 by saying ice is possible.

Does anyone have any ideas how to change the SW so it will display the temp?

I would see the dealer might need to reprogram the cluster or replace it

I read once that that is not the same sensor. There is a "coarse" temp sensor to prevent the ac compressor from running in below freezing temps and that is where the alert comes from. Trucks with the temp display have a different sensor.
