Fuel Line Leak

So this weekend I went through and replaced my wheel bearings, rotors, pads, etc as the front end needed some upkeep. After finishing this and going to move the truck I smelled gas. I move the truck outside so I can take a look and found a huge puddle under the truck. So I get under and start looking, from what I can find there is a plastic line that comes down and turns into a hard line and goes into the fuel filter, it looks like the fuel is leaking from the plastic to hard line connection. I didn't pull it apart yet because I didn't want to pour any more fuel out than already had been. I started looking up a fix and it looks like I can't just buy that single hard line from anyone online.

 

So I'd like to know, can I buy that single piece from GM? If not will I need to some how make a new one, I was thinking about making a new fuel line but I've never done it before, I've only replaced brake lines, that's about it. I didn't know if maybe I could just cut off the end of the plastic line and the hard line and run a rubber fuel line and clamp it at either end to fix the problem or if thats stupid to do. Hopefully someone has a nice easy cheap fix.

GM uses quick connect fuel lines so making one would be tough. It can be purchased from the dealer but it will cost about an arm and a leg. Check a company called linestogo.com though because they have lots of quick connect stuff.

I just took a tank out of an 03 and those plastic lines are separate ,

 

Go to a dealer parts counter and look at his screen , hopefully you can get it

This is for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500, 5.3 Extended Cab Short Bed.

 

I don't think its the plastic lines, I think its the metal line going into the plastic ones. This truck has rust pretty bad so I'm guessing the line is rusted through and causing the leak. I checked out linestogo.com and didn't find any lines by themselves, still only selling kits. I did find something close to what I'm looking for though but its for diesel engines and not mine. The part I found was: http://www.linestogo.com/fl591-a/ . If I could find something like that I could just add a line hard or soft in between the two and not have to worry about much.
