Durability of the plastic intake

I was just wondering if anyone out there has the new 5.3 or any of the other engines with the plastic intake that has a lot of miles or heavy useage on it.

I was curious to see how well it is holding up. I know technology has come a long way and if we can do the things we do know why not make a plastic intake that works. Heck we probably can make a whole engine out of plastic, who knows. I was just wondering if there is any cracking issues or warpage problems out in the real world.  ???

Thanks

They have been on the Camaro's since '98 and the Corvette's since '97.  I haven't heard of any problems.

My mom's old 99 burb had close to 70k on it and the air tube along with all the other plastic had held up great.  Ended up trading it in for an 03 burb with all the doodads.

My K&N air tube acutally did warp right at the place where it connected to the throttle body.  I was pissed but K&N replaced it for free and the new one hasn't warped at all yet!
