Center caps to fit aluminum wheels.

Picked up a set of H2 wheels only to find that the center caps from my steel wheels wont fit the aluminums. Not a big deal but since I have to buy caps anyway, are all of the stock GMC 8-lug center caps that work with aluminum wheels chrome finish? The caps for my steelies are silver finish and since the H2 wheels are aluminum not chrome I would rather have silver finish. Scouring eBay I have only found the chrome finish caps. Also, I pulled a lug nut and as far as I can tell, the steel and aluminum wheels both use a conical seat nut...so I should be able to use my old lug nuts with the new wheels right?

Side note. Does the GMC emblem come out of the cap? There seems to be no shortage of Chevrolet and blank center caps, but the GMC ones are a little less common...if the badge pops out with out self destructing then I should be able to get anything I would think...?

Thanks in advance.

I think you would need the aluminum caps off of your year truck, and you should have no problem with your old nuts on that wheel. The H2 uses the same nut as 1/2 ton trucks that have a snap on center cap. The threaded ones are used on just about every 1500, 2500, and 3500 truck that has screw on center caps. Aluminum or steel, the same part number.

Ok, so that answers the nuts, as for the center caps themselves,

Here are the caps I have that were on my steel wheels:

Here are the caps for aluminum wheels (that I need because mine wont clear the recess in the new wheel):

So the question is, are all the aluminum wheel-compatible caps chrome finish? or are they available silver like the ones I have..

Right. The fronts would fit but the rears would not. That and I think the hummer caps are ugly as sin. (Fortunately only one wheel I bought had the hummer cap, so I only need to try and sell that one on eBay)
