Clocked92 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 I have had a bad back window rattle on and off since winter. It sounded like the whole window was loose and banging around. I had tried to move the window around by hand but it was firmly in place. I found the problem the other day. When I have my rear window defrost on, the frost melts and runs down the window. If it's cold enough, it accumulates in the gap between the window and the cab and freezes again. The bumps in the road cause the ice to crack and it rubs against the cab and window making an awful rattle. Has anyone else noticed this or placed some weather stripping in that gap?
rjhedrich Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Mine does it and it drives me crazy. I agree I'm in the ice belt too. I finally resolve with a line of silicone caulk angle in a Triangle bead pattern. Now the bottom ice line drip away from the bottom of the glass. All good.
