I am getting Rockford fosgate 6.5" speakers And 2 kicker comp VRs for the subs I have a autotek 1600.2 amp but I was wanting to know if I would need a new head unit and another amp for speakers

More info needed. Truck? Bose? But yes you ahould not tun 6.5's on that amp

I would find a better amp bud. Either buy two amps or one large amp for all your speakers.

2 amps would be a better setup. Less likely to burn one up. Rockfords are nice speakers, don't waste them on a cheap amp

You need one mono amp for the subs. You need a 4 channel amp for your other speakers...presuming you have 2 front and 2 rear speaker configuration. ..or more...but ya 2 amps....or 1- 5 channel amp....properly powered for your set up....more power better than less power....
