Leveling A Lifted Truck

Hello, I got my truck lifted about 2 months ago and now it's back to a near factory rake. Can I just throw a spacer in or is it more complicated? Here's some pics to help, might be hard to see but it's not level on flat ground...post-137598-142085545884_thumb.jpgpost-137598-142085550131_thumb.jpg

I was looking at the BDS site and it doesn't say if the front strut is adjustable, if not the only thing I can think of is get a longer strut or get the 2 inch spacer kit from BDS and install it also. You need to measure the difference between the front and the back and see if the 2 inch kit will work.

You may want to measure to the top of the fenders on level ground and equal tire pressure first. Looking at the 2nd pic it looks pretty level or close (looked at it imagining the top of each tire level and the fenders looked pretty close). Personally I wouldn't mess with it especially if you haul and tow with the truck. A truck should have some rake if it's used as a truck because if it's perfectly level and you put any kind of weight in the bed or hook a trailer up to it then the truck will drag ass. You might be able to get the upper strut spacer from Rough Country which is only a 1/2". It should still work since it just acts as a washer between the strut and upper strut mount.

I use it mostly on construction sites and don't tow anything often. The only reason I would like it leveled is to get a little more ground clearance. I measured it on as flat of ground as I could find and it was 1 1/4" off. Not as bad as I thought so might just get the BDS spacer.

I believe the spacer they and most other level kits are 2" should it would be a negative rake. That's why I say you might can try to fine Rough Country's 1/2" upper strut spacer that comes with their 2 1/2" level kit. Both spacers are upper spacers. If you want it closer then get the 1/2" Rough Country spacer. Unless that skinnier upper spacer from BDS is a spacer and not just acting as a washer between the thicker black spacer and strut mount. Honestly it's probably more work than what you'll gain since you already have a 4" lift. A 1/2" spacer wouldn't be much of nothing and a 2" spacer would be too much. I also don't think you'll be able to double up (2) 1/2" spacers because I don't think it would be enough threads to be safe. I could be wrong though.

Ok, thanks. I have a neighbor that's over at Fox Shox and is hooking me up with a custom set pretty soon so I think I will just hold off until then.

1" would probably be perfect for what you have and want. You should measure the extra thread on the bolts to see if it's over an inch, if not the new spacers will need their own set of studs and basically be like some wheel spacers. It will need to be like these Skyjacker upper strut spacers. You can see the holes and areas where the BDS strut nuts will seat inside of the spacers. You also might want to call BDS to make sure it's ok to extend the strut and A-arms another inch without over extending. By the looks of the BDS lifts for the '14s+ the 6" lift is the same as the 4", but I guess you didn't want a full 6" lift lol.

Ok will give BDS a cal on Monday. I will take a look to see how much thread I have. Thanks 85, this is my first lifted truck and I'm still learning.

I have a 1" top gun Customz bottom mount leveling kit under my BDS 6". So you could easily add a 2" kit to yours. Bittom mount would be th easiest by far, but coil overs would be nice.
