Hey Guys-- just signed up to get some advice....

I have a 2004 GMC SLT 2500 Sierra Extended Cab 6.0L.... It's got an R/C 6" suspension lift with 35's...

I have a newer 6500LB "light weight" 34' travel trailer. It a 2011 and this one sits higher than the older travel trailers.

I need to install a weight distribution hitch.... I have towed my trailer several times with no issues, but always in a limited distance... Will be taking a big trip from the Atlanta area to Pensacola Beach, so need the proper system..

Looking at the Pro-Series 49903 Weight Distribution System with 10,000lb/1000lb tongue weight.. Pretty sure the drop down shaft that comes with the system will work.. My question: do I need to install an airlift bag, change gears, and/or add an extra leaf bar, or with the weight distribution system work? I've measured it all out and the WD system looks like the travel trailer will be absolutely level.

If additional mods are needed (besides the weight distribution and stabilizer) to keep the towing weight where it needs to be, what are the best options and costs? Thanks in advance for the help!

Not knowing your current gears or tire size, it's hard to say if you need to regear or not. It is a possibility pending the tire size.

With a 34' tt, I would highly suggest a better wd hitch system than a pro series (a good entry level system). Go with one that has integrated sway control. Either the Reese Dual Cam or SC sytem, and Equal-I-Zer 4 way system. The SC and 4 way are similar in how they work, and the DC system works as well, just a different style to get the same results.

If oyu go with the side mounted friction sway bar, it is suggested to use two for a trailer that length.

If the included shank has enough drop for a level trailer, you should be all set then. Can't see you needing anything else (bags, extra leaf-unless your leaf springs are sagging).

Only other thing needed is a good brake controller if you don't have it yet.
