Remote Start Install Issue

Good evening!

Today I decided to install my factory remote start because my truck did not come with one. I took the old hood latch off and installed the new one and tightened it down as well as connected the release cable to the new latch. I shut the hood to see if if any adjustments would need to be made. Well when opend my truck to pop the hood I noticed that my hood release latch in the truck was loose. I tried to pop the hood anyways and nothing. There is a small gap between the hood, large enough to get a screw driver through but its pretty tight. The hood is completly locked into place. There are two locking mechanisms one that holds the hood down while it is shut and the other that holds it down after you pop it from the cab. Sorry that was long winded. Does anyone know how I can get my hood opened??? I am thinking that the cable was not attached correctly or it came off. I have pulled on the bare cable from the cab with pliers just incase but it does not move. Any help is appriciated Thank you!

Can you see the hood latch bolts through the grille openings, if you can just take the bolts out but take note of where they drop.

Thanks for the reply but unforutinatly there is no way to get to those bolts from the grill that I can find. It is all blocked off.

When I get back in town I will go look at my dads truck, he has a 14, and try and help figure something out.

Didn't get home till after midnight and he left on a 5 day cruise this morning so I will check sometime tomorrow when I get to work.

After a lot of fiddling around I was finally able to get it undone and my hood to open. I bent a coat hanger and used that. Thank goodness I had the old hood latch to see how exactly it worked. The cable slipped out of its position which is why I was not able to use the in cabin latch. Glad that's over with!
