Hey GM tech, my truck ran ran fine for 250 miles with a blown CIG fuse. After replacing the fuse, i got down the road and was hit with a CEL, reuced power message and a 15-20mph top speed and a non-functioning throttle. Since then i have started the truck and it will idle fine and rev up when pressing the accelerator pedal and i have tugged on the yellow wire coming off the TB and it seems firmly affixed.

Any ideas rhat could help me?

Yes, you need a scanner and service information to follow the code and some experience ,

You can't reprogram it so just have this common problem diagnosed at a shop that CAN diagnose it and program

Sorry

Google revealed it to be the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC). I have checked some grounds and replaced the broken strap from the hood to the firewall with copper wire.

As far as the alternator, when i went to get the truck the alternator was howling and the seller replaced it with a 105A from, i think he said a 350 truck, and it had the same harness plug but required some squishing of the mounting tabs to fit. It had a load of dust on the wound copper, so i used a paint brush to clean it up a bit.

A new TB is about $150

A new TAC is about $150 as well.
