Since my trans is out at the trans shop i want to have a vette servo and shift kit installed. i emailed BB 4 days ago and they wont respond can i have the shift kit and servo installed if my tune had the shift pressure increased? I dont want to blow the trans or toast the clutches from shifting too hard

Yes you can. The 1-2 shift will hit harder than before, so it may be slightly unpleasant if your shifts are already very firm due to line pressure increases.

Your trans won't mind banging those shifts out. If anything is in pain when slamming through the gears, it's your u joints and differential, but I wouldn't worry about it. You're probably not shifting anywhere near hard enough to affect those guys much.

Ok so i will be fine adding a shift kit and vette servo to a stock 60e that already has the line pressure increased for firm shifts?

It will be fine.

Keep in mind the typical 4L60E seems to fail in the 140-180k mile range, or sooner with abuse (heavy towing, mud bogging, burnouts etc.) So I'm not saying it will last forever, but the addition of a 'Vette servo isn't going to be the cause of its demise.

The trans has 126K miles on it

The quicker it shifts the less heat it makes and the longer it should last. I would install an external trans cooler also. I had my 4l60e built by cpt transmissions and it was a beast.

I got the vette servo, bb tune line pressure turned up and oem cooler so it hits real hard. Barks em at wot. The kevlar bands i have also dramatically decrease temps
