I just used this item and forgot the part#, like 55990 or something. But on my 2003 6.0 I used channel locks on the drivers side plug wires but couldnt even get the most forward one on the pass. Side to budge. I got this tool at the parts house after he handed me a made in China tool, i saw is one right next to it then looked up some not so good reviews for either online.

 

 

With some good advice I got these four removed without busting anything, like the ac, or electrical wires, ya know collateral damage. It took maybe 20 minutes, and I work slow and try to be thorough.

 

 

First, you need to twist the metal shell until it spins freely. Then twist the plug boot til it does the same. Then pry, back and forth tugging and so on gets it loose.

 

Btw, be careful removing the wire at the coil as it is plastic.
