haha, another new computer

I just got my new computer today and my cousin came over and helped me set it up. It's downloading the win2k service pack 2 at the moment, but here's some specs on it:

AMD Athalon Processor 1.33 ghz

128 megs of ram (probably yank some out of another system for it tomorrow for 256 megs)

30 gig hard drive

Zip Drive

All in all it cost me under 400 bucks for the parts. Not a bad deal. I got a monitor free fromw work and I have a few extra keyboards and mice laying around. It's pretty sweet. I think tomorrow I'll get to try it out for some gaming and see how it does.

Who says I'm not

Actually they upgraded all the old 15" monitors to 17" monitors so we have a surplus of the old ones laying around. The one I grabbed was about a month or two old before they upgraded it. Real waste of money if you ask me since they give the best computer stuff to the big shots who only use them to check there email.

Now sit back and be scared because now I've got two computers on my desk.

Siume: this makes 4 total, but one is just a network server so it doesn't get used. But, these are really for gaming so at most I'll use two or three myself, but that's it

Athlons are supposed to be be better than Pentium's in some ways, and can do about the same with lower clock speeds and therefore less heat and wear. Or something....

AMD won the heart of the overclocker market due to the fact that they don't mind their customers overclocking. Whereas Pentium does, and lost a huge fan base due to it, besides the fact that their celeron's were crap. Besides, amd's duron's run games with quicker framerate speeds anywho.
