Anyone have a picture or two of there factory drop in bed liner, with the holes for the upper tie downs? I can find a picture of one anywhere. I searched here with no luck. Plan on ordering one Wednesday. Would love to see what it looks like with the bull rings installed.

I could be mistaken, but I think the factory bed liner is a below-the-rail unit. No?

Yes its below rail. Has 9 locations for upper bull rings to be installed. Not on bed rail. I just cant find a picture of an OEM liner with the cut outs.

Heres a pics of the rings.

I can get you a picture of mine tomorrow.

My personal recommendation is stay as far away from the factory liner as you possibly can. I am actually going to the dealer tomorrow to make them take mine out, repair the eight holes they drilled in my truck to install it, and then figure out how they're going to get me the liner I paid for.

What liner did you pay for? Are the bull rings not standard equipment? Why any truck would come with a plastic liner is beyond me....but to each their own.

The dealer threw in a bedliner for me when I bought my truck but I installed it myself just because you had to screw into the bed in 8 locations. I didn't want striped screw holes from the dealer installing it. Anyways the bedliner does not come precut for the tie downs, you have to do this yourself and the instructions tell you how. There is a dimple in the bedliner where each tie down is so you can then use a hole saw to make the mod.

You know, it was late when I posted that. I don't what was in my brain. I paid for the drop-in liner. Went to the dealer this morning to tell them how mad I was that no one advised me of the fact that the liner had to be SCREWED to the bed (and the tailgate) with self-tapping screws, and half of the ones they put in were stripped. We agreed that they would remove the drop-in and send the truck out for a Line-X at no extra charge. Talked with the Line-X guy and he said he'll fill the screw holes to protect the truck's metal and make them blend in.

The rings are standard equipment with the truck, I believe. I have them, but haven't installed them. The dealer said they don't put them on the trucks because they get swiped out of the lot.

That might vary depending on the specific bedliner and/or model year of the truck. As you can see in my pics, the holes are there for each of the positions and they came pre-molded into the liner. No cutting (that I'm aware of, unless the dealer did it as part of the install - I doubt it, though).

Ah, I'm with you now. I agree, a DROP-IN liner should not have to be attached, so glad to hear they are making it right.

The 9 bull rings are nice! Too bad my toolbox will cover up 5 of them..... My truck only has 2 accessible ones now, so I'll double my capacity with those!

I think it did vary when the bed liners where first released. At one time there where multiple part numbers for on specific length bed but now I think there is only one number and the mod is done by the dealers along with striped screw holes. Sorry to hear this happened to yours and its sucks they didn't advise you. This just shows that there are more people out there that don't care as compared to us few. And sales are clueless, they should be more educated on these things and not just the bells and whistles.

Couldn't agree more about the education part. When I first discovered this, I reached out to my salesperson. When confronted, he claimed to have no knowledge that the liner screwed to the bed. If that's true, then there's a LOT of education that needs to be done. If it isn't true, then he needs to be educated on the importance of being up front and completely honest with customers.

Ok, had mine installed a couple of weeks ago, It has all the access holes for the bull rings. The "drop in" to my surprise Had 8 screws installed attaching it to my bed. That part didnt bother me as much as how crooked it was put in. Its at least a halt inch off from side to side. With the luck I have had since the day I drove this off the lot im not surprised, soon as I hit 36k miles, This truck is GONE!!!

Couldn't agree more on the irritation with the screws. Mine is coming out and the dealer is putting in a Line-X for me at no extra charge. The drop-in liner is molded horribly, does not sit level side-to-side, and also does not sit flush up against the front wall of the bed properly. It's a cheap molded design with a TERRIBLE method for installation / securing.
