2000 silverado used bcm

first time poster here, i have a 2000 silverado 4x4 4.8. out of nowhere my security light stays on constantly and the dome light, auto headlights, door chime, and the indicator for the brights stopped working. i have to unhook the battery every night so the light doesnt kill it and occasionally the speedometer gets stuck on 100 but starts working after i drive a little ways. this all started at the same time and ive determined it was the bcm. my question is i bought a used bcm for 50 bucks can i put it in my truck and run it? my truck doesnt have the vatts. would i have to have this bcm reprogrammed? sorry for the long post

How exactly did you "determine" that it was a BCM ?

 

The used BCM is for a different truck with different options and a very different VIN ,

 

If it works fine but if not IDK WTF To suggest , maybe a reprogram will work , I've never and to deal with used crap computers while I was a tech at GM ,

Well I refuse to spend 800 bucks. I've read it will work more often than not, I'd rather spend the 50 bucks and try it. I don't know why you assume it's crap used computers, it worked fine in the truck it came out of. Pretty sure a rod knocking won't mess with the bcm.

I'd have it scanned to see what, if any codes show up. Then at least you may have an idea of what the problem is. That is if the used bcm doesn't fix the problem.
