So the truck cranks but it won't start? do all your basic checks check for spark, check for fuel or compression. Make it simple the gauges and all the indicators could be irrelevant to your no start

Yes it cranks but won't run, I know its not getting fuel because it won't turn on the fuel pump, which is brand new.... im just going off the gauges because im getting no oil pressure, no voltage read outs and when i turn the key it isn't turning on the fuel pump thats why im thinking its ignition related, i could be wrong, have been before, but its acting like its electrical

doesn't a relay trigger all that.

 

what is underhood stuff doing.. does the fuse block smell bad?

 

I have a 96. Been all over everything learning stuff.

my only quibble was realizing 40 amps in parking lights...swapped it all to led, including the dash.

 

quite a big load.

 

I am interested in the resolve. that much stuff not coming on should lead (pun) to a big power source as the error.

Ok so made progress today, it looks like it's the ignition starter switch, which is the black plastic box under the ignition switch on the column.... I removed it to see what it did and all the lights on the gauges and all the read outs are working now plus the fuel pump is coming on now... Now the only probably is that it won't run still, I'll get a new starter switch in and see if it is all fixed
