My stupid radio has some burnt out bulbs in it.  My Station 2 and 4 and my sound selct button don't light up.  How can I replace them?  It is the Casset radio with the CD Player below the radio unit.  I have learned to not notice it but my friend pointed it out again and now it is bothering me.  Can I do it?

Those lights are actually built into the radio unit itself - the only thing I can think of is to pull the radio out of the dash, and then tear it apart and see if you can get to the bulbs.  I doubt you will be able to - if you can't get to them, you can probably find a new factory radio for cheap on ebay.

I have had to replace mine, in my radio, and the climate control unit..  the blubs are solidered onto the board, easy to replace if you have a solidering iron..  i belive the part number for the bulbs is 272-1175 at radio shack.  I guess the hardest parts was pulling the radio apart...   any questions.  feel free to email me..

:fume: If anyone has any photos of these bulbs when your stuff is in pieces, it would be great to share with everyone else on here.

Here is a really great writeup on Subaru Legacy/Impreza dash bulbs - factory replacements are 5 bucks each! Radio Shack 12v bulbs are only $2 a pair and the fix worked great!

I think my bulb behind the dimmer knob symbol conked out. :D
