I'm of the additude that once you find something that works for you, stick without until you are given a reason to change.  That is the case with me on vehicles, tools, farm equipment, clothes, food, you name it.

Dang Shane, you've had a lot of vehicles!  :D

I didn't get my first car until I was 18 and in the Air Force in '87.

'79 Mercury Cougar XR7  (bought it off my parents, who bought it new), replaced with a '91 Silverado, replaced with my '99 Silverado.

'80 Pontiac Sunbird, replaced with a '88 Chevrolet Beretta, replaced with a '93 ford tempo ( :( )  :D

So,

3 Chevrolet

1 Pontiac

1 Ford

1 Mercury

11 GM

4 Ford

4 Datsun/Nissan

3 Mopars

1 VW

The GMs have treated me far better than anything else.

The only other that comes close is the '76 Ford Country Squire Wagon that I bought and sold three times, turning a profit on each sale.

The most fun vehicles have been my two Datsun racecars.

I've talked so much noise over the years about other brands, my friends would never let me live it down if I bought other than GM. If it wasn't made by the General, then its not worth the payments!

Ive had one OLDs, 1 Pontiac, and 2 chevy cars and 3 Chevy trucks. For 14 years of driving.

I'm 48 1/2. Been driving legally for 32 years and have personally owned 17 different vehicles. No, I'm not a dealer.

3 VW Bugs:     1964/65/68

1 Dodge Dart Sport (first new car):     74

2 Chevy autos (Caprice & Impalla):     70/74

2 Chevy Trucks:     65/69

1 Toyota Corolla:     79

1 Oldsmobile Delta 88:     76

2 Ford autos (LTD & Mustang):     70/84

2 Ford Rangers:     98/00

1 Nissan Sentra SER:     92

1 Nissan Pickup:     96

1 GMC Sierra:     2002

Looks like I pretty much skipped over the 80's, only the 84 Mustang. Kinda weird really. In the 80's, I drove 60's and 70's stuff.

Of the 17, only 7 were bought brand spanking new and of the 17, 4 were spanked in accidents (3 my fault).

And yes, I'm back where I belong with GM. I was raised on GM and all those vehicles aren't listed because I didn't own them.

I'm only 16, but I guess you could say I'm brand loyal.  My entire family (dad, mom, aunts, uncles) are loyal to Chrysler Corp.  Thats because my grandpa is retired from Chrysler, he worked in the proving ground.  I've heard many a great story from him!  But I've always liked GM trucks.  In 86 my parents bought a brand new ordered specifically for them Voyager LE.  That was my first car, ran great, until the head gasket blew for the second time(first time was in April 1990, extended warranty covered that).  That was my first car, they gave it to my older brother in 97 when they bought a brand new Dodge Ram Van Conversion Van.  I got that minivan in March.  I had it until a few months ago.  Head Gasket blew again and I decided not to fix it, just donate it to charity, give my mom that tax credit, and get a newer truck.  I was going to get a 2002 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 (I get employee discount thanks to Grandpa), and that would only cost me like $300/month on a lease.  When I checked out the insurance rates on that my mom freaked.  Started looking back at 95's, and I didn't like the Rams or Dakota's then, so I looked at GM's which I liked all along but were pretty much forbidden in my family.  Ended up with my '95 Blazer, got a steal on it, insurance is still sky high but reasonable for a 16 year old.  Boy...I can ramble on :( .  So far I've had a 1987 Plymouth Voyager, a 1995 Chevy Blazer, and I drive my moms new van all the time, a fully loaded 2000 Dodge Ram Van Conversion van.

I'm very brand loyal.  It has to do with the fact that my Grandparents worked for GM.  When they both collectively worked some 70+ years for a corporation that puts food on the table, clothes on your back, pays tuition, etc, etc, you tend to be somewhat loyal.  If they wwere alive when I had my 1 ford, both of them would be rolling in their grave!

With that said, I'm only 29 have had about 15 various GM products and one ford.

Is that brand loyal or what?

I like the GM's muscle cars, and GM trucks. I was truthfully looking at the Dodge a little when I got my 'rado because I liked the interior better and the offroad package looked nice. But once I drove my truck, that was all she wrote. I guess I just decided that drivability and reliability were more important than looks. It's not like the GM's are ugly, and if I bought new ( either 02 or 03) it would probably be a Sierra or a HD Silverado. I remember when the 99-02 body style came out, I told myself I'd never buy one. Here I am, a couple years later driving one. Shows what I know. I just couldn't pass up the deal. The truck is a '99Z71 LT Ext. Cab 5.3L which I bought last spring and it had 3400 miles on it. Basically brand new and I paid a little over $23k for it. At the time my neighbor worked at that dealership and said he couldn't whore me out a new truck with those options for under $37k or $38k. Someone else took the hit on the truck for me, so I couldn't pass it up.

My next truck will be a GM and my wife's next vehicle will be a Yukon Denali when we can swing it.

Not particularly loyal to one brand but a few.  Chevy, Jeep and Toyota.

Don't care for Nissan's (even though we have one), Fords and Dodge's just don't do much for me.  The Pontiacs, Fords and Mazdas my parents drove were blah.

I did like my sisters orange '78ish Capri and my Dad's '82-ish El Cabelero.  Who made the Capri??

Now this is loyalty.  I'm on my 4th GM vehicle.  1 Fiero GT, A Camaro Z28, then an S10, and now a Silverado.  And on the other front, I just sold my 4th Honda bike and put a deposit on my 5th.

 Who made the Capri??

I know the Capri was under the "Mercury" brand, but I believe it was actually an import from Ford of Germany.

One of the Fords I owned (actually the first car I owned) was a German Ford.  It was a '79 Ford Fiesta (not Festiva).  Ford imported this car from Germany for 3 years 78-80.  It was very similar to a VW Rabbit back then.
