Putco Bed SS Rails

I installed Putco SS locker side bed rails on my truck a few days ago. Nice product. Packaged well and easy to install. I would buy them again.

After about a year the ends of the tubes got covered with kind of a chalky mung from being in contact with the pot-metal end brackets. Also the o-rings no longer can be put in place.

Same here. I was informed the two ends that go in the stake pocket are not warranteed.

All in all though they have held up pretty good.

I like the black powdercoat ones myself. I wonder if the powdercoat would prevent the corrosion BlackSilver ended up with on his end pieces.

Why do all the companies make the same bed rails: curved chrome from stake pocket to stake pocket? I had a 94' Seirra 1500 that I put a set of J-MAC extruded aluminum rails on ant it looked awesome. The rail was curved on the backand bolted in front, about a foot from the cab. The end of the rail (by the cab) was straight.

When I bought ny new 02' 2500HD, looked for the same bed rail. When I went to my local 4x4 shop, they told me J-MAC stopped production of their bed rails about 2 years ago. I couldn't fathom the idea about putting a set of Putco's on my new truck. Soto the internet I went.

After extensive searches, I found a set in Texas (Woo Hoo). I should be gettig my new rails this week. When I get them installed, I'll post a pic.
