N-Fab Nerf Bar w/EGR Fender Flares

Ran into an issue with my N-Fab installation today. Seems there is a fitment issue if you have fender flares installed. I sent pictures to n-fab and waiting to hear back but more than likely the bars will need cut capped and welded to fit properly.

Basically no help from n-fab. not meant for trucks with fender flares. We are going to modify the bars. Cut at an angle from the top left above the hoop down to the right half way down the bar Then weld a cap and paint.

That's sucks... Kind of let down really, specially with they fact N-Fab won't help you out.. Do they really think that people who buy these and put them on there lifted trucks won't have the fender flares....

It does suck, but this is one of those rare situations where for them to fix it then it would mean they would probably have to sell a whole set for fender flares which doesn't make much sense. I see way more lifted truck without flares than with flares. If I ever did get flares it wouldn't be the big pocket style like that anyways.

EGR flares are a no drill application. As much as i WANT to be mad at n-fab i am not really. Disappointed that these were not a consideration when creating the product as i feel that guy that wants the look of their product also would have some type of flare installed as well. It doesn't appear it would take much modification to the bar to make it work and not look bad even if you don't have the flares.

Regardless we will get it modified and fixed. My only worry is about the powdercoat finish and how it will look if i decide to just paint the modified end. The other issue I have is that the other set of bars we have for our other truck are the textured finish. so replicating that look will suck.

Instead of modding the bar, why not notch the flare? Would be easier and shouldn't even have to repaint them.

Unfortunately right where the flare would need to be notched is a location of one of the clips holding the flare on. We haven't thoroughly decided yet but modding the bar seems like the cleaner way to do it. got to get my business partners son over to decide for us. He is our welder...

What about figuring something out with the mounting brackets of the bars. Just seems like notching, putting a new cap on the end would be last resort. Especially since paint won't be as durable as powdercoat.

Amps were definitely a first choice but cost was the factor. There is no moving the bars they are designed to work with existing holes in the truck.

Why not space the bars lower to clear?

EDIT: Looks like it would take alot of spacing..

I ran into a similar issue with my Go Rhino D2 steps, except mine were getting hit by my tires when I put 35's on. If N-fab's mount similar to the D3's you can make a bracket modification to move the step back. I had these plates made to bolt up to the step bracket and then mounted the step to the back two holes. Moved the step back 2 1/2".post-93169-142800985187_thumb.jpgpost-93169-142800986729_thumb.jpg

Here is a picture from below of how things mounted. The custom piece is coated in rubber undercoat and paint, so it looks similar to the line-x on the step.post-93169-142801018234_thumb.jpg

Edit: I just saw you have the full length bars and the back flare is the problem... May not be able to shift step without making the front flare an issue.

I didn't mean to move the brackets, I meant modifying them or as someone suggested to try spacers
