Cracked center caps

I just had my truck lifted with new wheesl & tires installed about a month ago.  When I was washing my truck I noticed that 3 out of 4 of my center caps were cracked?  Is this normal?   ???   I've noticed that the center caps are just plastic with a chrome plating The wheels are American Racing Atlas 16x8 polished.  The center caps seem to be securely on the wheels but I wonder.  Can I get them replaced under warrenty?  If so can the wheels still run on the truck without the center caps while I ship them back to American Racing?  Is it worth the trouble.  Is this common?  Thanks for your time. :banghead:

I just got off the phone with the shop that lifted my truck.  They said that this is not normal and will order me replacement center caps for all 4 wheels.   :banghead:

That's good to hear.  Ask them to keep the one that is good so you can have it for a spare.  Or even better, take it off before you take the truck in if your having them do it.  :thumb:

I didn't even think of that.  Good one MountaineerTom 99Z71!  We'll see if they let me but I'll ask.  I didn't expect to much of a fight after spending close to $4k in their shop.  However just like anywhere else you have to know who to talk to.  The guy I deal with is really cool, the other guys in the shop are kinda harsh (not people persons at all). :banghead:

Well the second time turned out to be the charm.  I originally went down on Tuesday 4/8 to have the shop replace my cracked center caps.  Well after about 40 minutes of waiting then finally got to it (very busy shop for a Tuesday).  They pulled my truck onto the rack and about 10 minutes later the told me the new center caps didn't fit?  :flag: They apologized and took down the part # from my center caps and told me they would order them the next day.  I couldn't come down on Wednesday so I told them I'd call them on Thursday to see if the center caps had come in.  Well they did & I went down after work, one of the guys had a brown paper bag in his hand and proceeded to pull new caps out of it.  It took him like 1 mixture each wheel.  One of the caps was still good so he didn't replace that one because he would have to pull off the tire.  They all matched so I didn't mind.
