Drivers window ticking/clicking

I have a 15 silverado and at times I hear the drivers window ticking or clicking. extremely annoying. I thought originally it was the plastic trim piece that connects with the seal. i lifted on it and realized its just wrapped around the door without any real clips until it meets the window seal. I stuck some double sided tape in there to see if that would help. nope its still there. so i read a couple threads here and found some people pressing on the window and it would go away. I pressed the window and it went away. have we found a solution to this? I took it to my dealer and of course it didn't do it when they drove it. it does it every other day. has anyone had any luck fixing this one?

I have the exact same problem, been there pretty much since I bought the truck 9 months ago. Mine comes and goes depending on the weather and tends to do it more on cooler days when the sun is out. It does go away if I press firmly on the window or crack the window. Something is swelling and shrinking in the door based on temperature but not sure what it could be. Had a squeak in my gas pedal that also came and went with the temperature but dealership fixed that with foam padding.

Mine does the same thing but only makes the noise if you hit rough spots in the road. If you crack the window just a hair it stops. I may put some silicone spray lube on a rag and rub it on the top edge of the window to see if it will help. Could be the clips that hold the felt window guide in place when they get pressure on them when the window is fully up just a thought. I assume the felt guide has clips on the back side to hold it in place. May try to pull the guide down just to see how its held in place.

Let us know, mine was pretty tame yesterday but I also had the window down when I wasn't on the highway.

I have the same ticking popping sound in my 14. I have stopped it for now. will try to explain what I did. On the drivers side window let the window down. At the top of the window track look from outside the door looking in . look at the back edge of the rubber track pull out on it there is a fold where it meets rubber again. I took some WD-40 sprayed it on a rag and rubbed it in that fold from the door post side around almost down to the mirror. Then I did the same with where the window goes up in the track. So far the noise has stopped don't know how long it will last but found the cause of the noise. I would rather use spray silicon but was out. Hope this helps.

I had the same noise in the front driver window area. I determined the clicking/rattle was coming from the head liner above my head in the vicinity of the overhead grab handle. The noise went away when I put slight upward pressure on the roof liner with my hand.

I then removed the grab handle, pulled down the liner edge at top of door opening. Looking inside, the top of the liner has a hard plastic material that appeared to be making slight contact with the roof metal. I placed a piece of foam in this area, reinstalled the grab handle and the noise is gone.

Is your click/tick more at highway speeds? Can you jam your fingers in between the weather strip where the door meets the trucks and sound goes away? that was the case with mine. I added some weatherstrip on top of the weatherstrip around the top right side (truck ...not door) ......fixed my issue. I may post a pic tomorrow..

Would your noise go away if you cracked the window just a hair mine would. I rubbed some WD-40 in the top of the window track and the noise stopped until the 40 started to wear off.
