I haven't done much major things, but my favorite so far is the Flowmaster Super 44 single in/dual out muffler. I just can't get enough of how it sounds. Favorite functional add ons are the UWS toolbox which was right around $500 and the N-fab steps which were just over $500 I believe. All I can say is the UWS boxes are as tough as a box can be and can hold some major weight. I can't even tell you how much weight I have in the box and I have it packed to the top all the way across. It's enough weight to where it seems like it lowered the rear a little lol. I had the same weight in the UWS box on my old 98 which held the weight just fine for the 10 years I had the truck.

FXR retrofit is by far my favorite. I have tried halogens, LEDs, and HIDs in the stock projectors, I have tested all while having a tinted windshield (45% film so around 30% VLT theoretically on my windshield) and I never felt comfortable driving at night until I got my retrofit. After the retrofit I can see farther, wider, and in general, more clear than ever before, even before getting my windshield tinted

 

either that or LED footwell lights so you can see the floor at night when the dome lights come on

Man those look awesome, if you have them on your truck, could you please post picts? How do you get around the DRL? As far as I can tell, the DRL is simply the main headlight at a reduced voltage and HID's only like 1 flavor of voltage - 12! I've seen a lot of bad HID conversions and used to be that guy going down the road with spaceship lights so I'm really hesitant to change out the halogens, but damn it Chevrolet $45,000 and you're still using 100 year old light technology!

What is your favorite mod for under $500. I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket and was going to throw it in my truck. Just didn't know what to buy for it.
