Bent Frame on 2015 Canyon

I bought my first truck in February and decided to go with the mid-size truck for my first truck. I bought the 2015 GMC Canyon. I love my truck. Two weeks ago I got rear ended by someone doing 50-60 mph. I haven't even had my first oil change done to my truck. The collision place is telling me my frame is bent and my truck has been shifted forward 6 degrees. This is just the visual view so far. He also said if my truck was 1-2 years old, then this would be a no brainer and the truck would be totaled. The frame can't be repaired. The insurance company doesn't deem the truck totaled at this point. They have to order a new frame for my truck. The wait for that is 4-6 months. I love my truck don't get me wrong on my next statement, but my truck will never be the same. I am concerned that my extended warranty will be null and void now. The re-sale value on my truck just tanked. There is definitely a diminished value now to my vehicle. Yes I went ahead and have contacted an attorney just to get some feedback on what my options are. Since I live in Texas, property laws here I guess are no so much for the consumer.

I would love to hear some feedback on my situation. Has anyone ever had to replace a frame on a vehicle they own and was the vehicle ever the same again??

Thanks

If they don't total it (which they should because of frame damage) file a diminished value claim. I'd make it my business to make the insurance guys total it.
