Universal joint life expectancy?

What kind of life (miles) are you seeing on your oem sealed-for-life universal joints? I have a newly acquired squeak at ~60k that sounds like a dry pin on a joint.

It depends on the usage. The maximum life expectancy is 2 years for OEM.

265,000 and I've just now replaced them for the 2nd time. Buy the grease-able ones and you should be good to go.

So there's not really a magic mileage that seems they fail in this batch? The last truck it was 75k...pretty much every truck of that generation Cummins had the joints seizing at 75k. Didn't know if this was normal for these sealed joints.

I have to investigate deeper, but its a front driveshaft joint if its a joint that's squeaking.
