Need Help with a 4.3L v6

So got a fun project. I need a new motor for my 86 el camino. I don't think I want to do any serious upgrades, too much work to upgrade the fuses so kiss method until I get more time.

 

That being said, can an L35 be changed back to tbi with a first generation intake manifold. I'm seriously thinking no. But as my research has led me, it's an lb4 in it's current configuration. So the question is the L35 vortec and will that matter? The donar car I'm looking at is an 1995 awd astro van.

 

I figure this is probably the best forum to be asking. I'm desperately trying to find an Lb4 motor to save myself a ton of headache but they don't seem to be available very long around here.
