My link turns on and off

I've had an issue with the my link system in my truck, it sporadically turns off and then back on; well today it started changing stations by itself and about half of the screen was blinking on and off. I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue with this and if so how did they get it fixed. I took a video of what it was doing so I can show the dealer.

This is an issue that a competent dealership service department can handle. It's way too much for an average, or even above average, truck owner to troubleshoot and repair. Hopefully the truck is still under warranty, I would hate to see the invoice if it involved more than mere software reloading.

Yes, it's still under warranty. I've brought it in for this before and was told that they can't replicate the issue. Hopefully since I've gotten it on video they will at least attempt to fix it.

If you're on good terms with the Service Manager, ask them if Tech Line would need some more specific than the video that you have. Also, ask "is this the sort of thing that codes would be stored in the system somewhere?"

And, maybe transfer the video off of your phone and onto a USB stick so that they can play it on their computer and even make a copy of it (it's possibly too large to send via email).

I have an appointment for this coming Tuesday. The service manager said he's going to see if it has any stored codes and he's searching to see if anyone else has had this issue and what they did to fix it.

I'm not 100% sure if there's a corresponding update for the Sllverado, but my Sierra had a reasonably good sized update that had to be done a couple of months back. My system would shut down while in use and absolutely everything was gone until it decided to come back on. Typically, this would require sitting overnight.

While it's still laggy, and there are no new features to how it works (sad, because there's a lot that's missing), it at least doesn't randomly power itself off anymore. Ask them if they could check with Tech Line on your specific issue and whether or not there's a particular software update that addresses it or something similar to it. Also mention that larger update that was done for the Sierras as a comparator.

I dropped off the truck this morning for this and a few other issues, fingers crossed that they get all of these issues fixed.

I am having a similar issue with my radio. The radio will turn on and off by itself. Sometimes, the radio will continue to work but I will lose the functionality of the volume control, air control and recently my driver controls have been going out as well. My truck has been to the deal er 4 times for this issue, most recently last week. They cleared out all of the codes and updated everything. It lasted for 2 days and now it is back at it again. This is also the 2nd radio that has been put in my truck. The radio will continue to play once the truck is turned off, key is out of ignition, everyone has exited (doors opened and closed), and it has been locked by the remote. It is totally possessed! Anyone have any suggestions????
