NewbieZ71 Posted February 9, 2002 Posted February 9, 2002 Not sure if this belongs here or in the Audio Forum..I think here but move it if its more appropriate..... I am making a CD for a neighbor who is a judge and a lawyer. He needs a couple of good poker playing CD's. I am trying to make a CD of songs ALL having something to do with crime, criminals, etc.. stuff like Smugglers Blues/Glen Frey, Coming Into Los Angeles/Arlo Guthrie.. etc... anybody got any suggestions to help me? No rap, he's not into it!
MountaineerTom Posted February 9, 2002 Posted February 9, 2002 How about Bad to the Bone, George Thorogood (sp?) and the Destroyers.
HillHound Posted February 9, 2002 Posted February 9, 2002 "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton? or "I'm No Angel" by Greg Allman or "Copperhead Road" by Steve Earle or "Devil's Right Hand" also by Steve Earle would be perfect cause the song's about a guy who gets hung for shooting a cheater in a card game or "Folsom Prison Blues" by Johnny Cash or heck I could go on but that's good for now!!
General Lee 01 Posted February 10, 2002 Posted February 10, 2002 AC\DC: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Big Balls, Highway to ####-(you did say he was a lawyer, right? j\k) The theme to COPS Booker-T and the MGs: Green Onions (Not a "crime" song, but a good poker song I think) Aerosmith: Janie's got a gun ZZ-Top: I'm bad, I'm nationwide, Tush. Eric Clapton (or) Bob Marley-(I think) [Either one is good]: I shot the Sherriff
Elwood Posted February 10, 2002 Author Posted February 10, 2002 How about "I Fought The Law And The Law Won"

General Lee 01 Posted February 10, 2002 Posted February 10, 2002 I have a couple Lynyrd Skynyrd songs in mind, but can't think what they are right now. I'll get back to you with them. Thanks for reminding me Tom! Lynyrd Skynyrd: Whino, Down South Jookin', Gimme 3 steps.
Elwood Posted February 10, 2002 Author Posted February 10, 2002 "Saturday Night Special" would be a good Skynard song. You could always use the Jerry Reed song from Smokey and The Bandit: "East Bound and Down" or something like that. And Jerry Reed "Amos Moses" is a good song too, maybe not one you want for this though. Or Jerry Reed "Down On The Corner" or "When You're Hot, You're Hot", they're gambling in those songs.
Elwood Posted February 10, 2002 Author Posted February 10, 2002 "White Lightn'" -- George Jones "Just Got Paid Today" -- ZZ Top And I know there are some Allman Brothers Tunes, I just can't think of them right now.
WEFs99 Posted February 10, 2002 Posted February 10, 2002 David Allen Coe...something about when his Momma got out of prison.
