My Spyder Projector Headlights's UV protection layer has flaked off (literally over one day period, because they were perfect yesterday) leaving a rough to touch and easily scratchable layer that has a little haze to it. It is hard to see in the pictures, but they both are affected and are hazy. Headlights have regular halogen bulb's not HID's, and warranty is not an option. For now, I just used my DA to make 3 passes with Meguirars microfiber compound and pad, and then 2 passes with microfiber finishing wax and pad. I was going to do a glaze in between but was in a rush. You can still see where the lines are to where the UV layer has came off. The area where the UV layer pealed on the lense is now smooth and not longer hazy, and I am going to top off with a layer of Collinte insulator wax.

I have two options:

Dealer's body shop (with the headlights removed) is willing to wet sand with 3000 git then pass with a layer of UV clear but fears it may yellow over time.

Or.

Use a headlight resteration kit's sealant and see how long it holds up.

Any one have any experiences with doing either or suggestions on what to use?
