B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch - Any install problems?

Has anyone put a B&W Turnoverball hitch on their '15 3500 HD Diesel 4x4 Long Bed? Any problems with clearance and interference with the exhaust, brake lines, wiring, etc.?

I have a 14 2500 HD and the hitch ...but have not installed the hitch yet. Check out the video of the isntall on etrailer.....2500 and 3500 should be about the same.

Yep...watched the video. I think I'm going to pay a local dealer to put it on along with an in bed RV plug.

1. Looks like it really needs to be up on a lift to put it on. I'm too old and fat to be rolling around on the ground trying to install it. My wrenching days are over.

2. I don't think I have the heart to be cutting off that heat shield with a cutting wheel on my new truck.

3. I don't care how many times I measured it, if I cut that 4" hole in the bed of my truck it would be off 1/2" one way or the other. It's called buzzard luck.

In my old age it's a lot easier to pay somebody and extra $200 to put it on than it is for me to kill myself trying to do it and then kick myself in the butt for that next 10 years for screwing it up.

They send the kit with nuts with metal handles to reach the inside of the frame. On the drivers side, the metal handles had to be bent to miss the wire harness. Pay close attention to this, mm from disaster!.

You do have to cut the heat shield, but you replace it with one that is hundreds times thicker. Then I cut some of the fender well felt for the pull handle.

Other than that it was a two hour job with two us. All measurements spot on as always.

Edit: OOPS, mine isn't a long bed or a diesel. Sorry! But, B&W is the only way to go.

If you are planning on installing the companion. You may have problems. As I did. Found out the the bed in the truck is not flat, The truck has a crown in the bed, Making the companion not sitting flat in the bed.

I now have 2 big dents in a brand new truck.

I definitely plan on using the companion fifth wheel hitch. I've never looked closely at the bed in the truck. I'll have to check it for a crown when I get back home. Thanks for the info.

Put a level in the bed, Toward the front you will find a crown in the bed.
