Question About Gibson Exhaust

Found a good deal on a Gibson exhaust for my 2015 double cab, problem is its the exhaust for a crew cab with a 6.5' bed, now it seems with every other brand out there you just cut down the mid pipe to make it fit the shorter truck. Gibson has a separate part number for every length of truck, I called Gibson and they said there is a slightly different bend in the mid pipe that you couldn't just cut it down. Anyone have a Gibson exhaust on theirs and is there a bend in the mid pipe? Does it hook up to the factory ball socket? Anyone see a reason why the bend would be different?
