Luster inspired post. Report at 21000 Miles GMC Sierra SLT

2014 GMC Sierra, 6.2 Crew Cab 6.5 Box with 3.73 Gear. 21000 miles as of today. Purchase last October 2014.

I agree with Luster, this is the best truck I have ever had. It is my third pickup. 1992 Chevy 1500, Reg Cab 8' Bed 350 4x4 and a 2004 Silverado Extended Cab 5.3 4x4.

This truck hand down is better in every way than my previous trucks.

The fuel economy is great for the power it provides. 14-15 in town empty, 18mpg going 75-80mph empty, 20mpg going 60mph empty and average 13mpg pulling a 3500lb trailer.

Pulls like a 3/4 ton but drives and rides like a 1/2 ton

The 6.2 is a rocketship, The crewcab is roomy for my whole family and the 6.5 box still hauls what I need it to. It is truly a swissarmy knife of trucks. It does everything I need it to and it is a very sharp looking truck.

I did and still do have a slight vibration above 70mph. I have had them road force balance the wheels several times and it is going back in. The dealer has been very helpful and GM extended my warranty on the vibration issue I believe until 65000 miles. (They also have gotten the vibration analyzer. They are waiting for an additional tool that works with this to isolate what the problem is.)

If the wheels/tires hadn't need the road force balance to begin with I don't think I would have even noticed the way it vibrates now. It is just that I am more sensitive to the issue since it was more noticeable before.

My last truck the 2004 Silverado also had a vibration. As soon as we upgraded the tires there was never a problem again.

My 2014 sierra truck did not come with the telescoping steering wheel, or heated steering wheel.

I also think keyless entry and push button start should have been standard on SLT or LTZ trucks and higher.

Haha! So nice to know that I inspired someone (besides my grandkids) to do something!

Glad you know that you love your new truck, as I think most Silverado/Sierra owners do.

Another thing I have noticed is that a lot of people NOTICE my truck. I came out from church last Sunday and there were 4 guys in the parking lot looking it over. At furst I thought someone backed into it! But they just liked it. "How do you like the new truck?"... "Good gas mileage?"... "Does it have good power?"... "Are those 22's?"... "Great looking truck!"... etc. etc.

I still get a little creeped out when I come out of a store and there's someone checking it out. Last week at the car wash, the guy next to me at the vacuums kept staring as I was driving away. At first I thought one of my AMP steps was stuck or something. Went back around the vacuum bay and asked if there was something wrong...he said that he liked the "rumble" and asked what kind of exhaust I had...

They do need to come up with an upgrade for the Projector headlights on the sierra. They are just too dim.

I'd be willing to bet that there's a headlight upgrade with the 2016 Sierra "facelift". It's the only complaint I've ever heard about the Sierras.
