exhaust tip question. 2015 Silverado

Im trying to size an exhaust tip but, an angle cut on my stock exhaust leaves me with 2 3/4" x 3 1/2". Exhaust inlet sizes are only diameters. Do I cut it flat at the 2 3/4" mark? If not what bolt-on size do I get.

whatever the diameter of pipe is....mostly likely 3 inch...what r u cutting ? the tip slips over the end and held with band clamp

Which engine is in your truck? ....and how do you get that measurement for the tailpipe? Is should either be one or the other, not both that you posted.
