anybody try to repair that textured protective paint strip?

going down a road where I probably should have been in a Jeep and did this....not sure if I'm too worried about the dent since it's where it won't really be noticed as fixing the paint. The stuff seems kind of rubberized. Only thing that came to mind is spraying it with that rubberized paint stuff to match the texturing then just using spray touch up over that. Just did it today so haven't gotten any estimates, thoughts?

Oh that sucks. But it could just be a character mark? kinda shows that the truck is indeed a truck and not just a driveway queen.

My daughter calls it a battle scar. Just not quite sure I'm ready after only a year to let her go down the battle scar road yet ;-) like her pretty when she cleans up. It definitely gets used offroad but I'm the type that tries to take care of my stuff, especially expensive toys like this.

I'd take it to the body shop to fix the dent and the paint

Yeah my body shop painter and estimator commented on the textured stuff back when I had my flares painted and they were checking out my truck. They didn't seem happy about it. Another challenge.

I'm still going to get some quotes but I was curious. Was just worried it might cost an arm and a leg but hopefully not.

I did find that the rubberized coating that the rock chip protective paint they put on the bottom you can get in a can. You put that on then match the color over it. I'm sure I wouldn't get it perfect but just getting the paint fixed I think you'd have to really look to notice the dent. I was just glad it was where it was at and didn't get the door panel. since it's all textured wouldn't have to get the paint and clear coat all perfect like up higher. idk, maybe I'm just asking for trouble, it's probably better to get it fixed right in the long run. :)
