Silverado AC burnt rubber smell

Hello. My buddy has a 2010 Silverado 1500 LT. He says when he starts the truck and the AC comes on he'll smell burning rubber for a minute or so until it clears out/gets cool then all is fine. What would this be from?

Could be an issue with the AC belt tensioner locking up

  Ha!! So GM Customer service, ive already been talking with someone on your email team and there is nothing they can do. So pretty consistent with everyone else’s experience- you can do NOTHING.. worthless emails. Sure glad i have 4 GM cars on our family cuz now its clear you dont care.. Sad and pathetic.
