Diablo intune question

What settings are you guys running on you intune as far as the shifting? I want to get rid of the hesitation while your accelerating hard. Today i was taking off from a round about so i gave it about 3/4 throttle, it hesitated and felt like it dropped a gear. I would really like to get rid of that.

Turning torque management off will get rid of the hesitation. You just need to be careful with it off. Going WOT from a stop or at lower speeds too much will put a lot of stress on the transmission and will shorten it's life.

Id rather not turn it off for the reason you mentioned. If i bump up the firmness will that help?

That will help. The canned Firm and Hard shift TCM tunes eliminate some degree of torque management but don't completely turn it off from what I have read. I'd start with one of those and then modify the shift points to your liking. That won't completely eliminate the hesitation since torque management is still active but it will help. Doing a 10% throttle boost in the TCM tune will also help.

On a side note, if you haven't disabled DOD (AFM) you may want to read up on the engine problems and oil consumption issues a lot of people have complained about. The general consensus seems to point to the cylinder deactivation feature as the cause.

Thanks for your help. First thing I did was shut off afm, also bumped my throttle boost up 12%. I havent messed with the shifting yet.

I doing think the intune will do enough to hurt the transmission. I have shift firmness all the way up and torque man. turned off, and still doesn't shift much firmer than stock.

Hey guys. I do not know much about tuners. All I know it that you can ones ride factory setting. But what all can you alter? Is there a guide? How do you know that what your doing isn't messing up your truck or it's the right settings? Are there pre-sets? What's the best tuner out there for the $$?

I got my diablo intune for 300$. Go to diablos site and you can see all the settings you can change.

Oil consumption is still an issue with AFM? It was a big problem on my '08 and at 70k ish miles they went in and put in new pistons and rings and installed a 'fix' for the oil routing or something to that effect. I can't believe it's still an issue in 2015?
