I put Kroger Gas in my truck, 87 octane, 3 cents cheaper than anywhere in town when you use the Kroger card.  Never had a problem.  Right now it's 1.27$ per Gallon for 87.  Chris

It doesnt really matter to me because something like 80% of all gas in WV comes from Marathon in Kentucky, no matter what name is on the sign at the station. Heard that on the news a while back!

Good Gas doesn't have to be tied to any particular brand. It is more important to stick to station you are familiar with, that usually sell a fairly large amount of gas daily. Then pay close attention to how the engine responds to the new gas. Also you should try not to fill up while the fuel truck is filling the tanks, due to tank setiment being stirred up. Although retailers that sell more gas tend to have less trash in their tanks. I also Use Kroger gas in both vehicles, and have never had a problem. I also sometimes buy Sams Club Gas. :thumb:

Sam's Club gas.  It's 5-10 cents cheaper.  Plus they are always running out of 87 and sell the 93 for the 87 price.  When that happens I go get all 3 of our cars and go fill up!

The last time I used Sams Club gas, my truck had a hard time starting and ran really rough until I filled up again (ExxonMobil).  Also happend to my dads Jeep and Rodeo on the same day.  Just bad gas I'm guessing, but I'll never fill up there again.

I've filled up a BJ's when it is convenient.  It is quite a bit less than some of the nearby stations.  The gas they buy is from the same trucks that deliver to the Exxon stations.  Just for insurance, I put in a bottle of Techron every 3k-6k miles to keep it all clean.

I think all California gas is the same. I only fill  up at busy reputable stations though. I always pass the station up if a fues delivery truck is there. I guess you can get a bad tankful from just about any station if you are the unlucky one. Change filters once and a while especially if you run a tankful that you suspect is contaminated.

I used to fill up at Sam's all the time.  But I was noticing alot of pinging from the engine of our Silverado.  I switched to Chevron and haven't had the pinging since.  On average it is about 5 cents per gallon more expensive over the closest Sam's to my house.  For a 20 gallon purchase (average) that is only $1.00 difference.  I would burn more gas driving to the Sam's than I would make but filling up with cheap gas.  Plus my truck runs better.

Just my 2 cents.
