Weight distribution

I posted earlier about small dents showing up above my wheels. it is driving me crazy i went to my autobody shop and he said he would have to repaint the whole side to fix it right and in the end it cost around 400cdn without the decaling.  in the winter because of the 2wd drive i need extra weight in the back for traction so we put in 600lbs of sandbags in the back right by the tailgate behind the 2 2x6 i have for partitions. i am wondering if someway the weight of the bags over 6 months deformed or stretched the side and when i took them out it went back and caused the dent. to clarify i just noticed the dents a couple weeks ago after i took the bags out of the back. there are no visable signs of brute force to cause the damage. any input would be much appreiciated thanks.

I would seriously doubt that happening...

If 600 lbs in the rear of the bed were to cause it to buckle, then I would be screaming at my dealer and GM!!!

That's alot of rear bias...  but it shouldn't cause that  kind of problem IMO

I doubt it.. I used to ride with my spare held down by sand bags (fullsize spare lying in bed), and I haven't seen anything like that.

yes on the passenger side there are two one above the rear of the wheel and one above the front of the wheel. on the drivers side there is one above the rear of the wheel. My brother in law came out and he used to do body work and painting. he figured it may be door dents. but it would take quite a different door to get over the running board that extends over the wheel well. still trying to figure a way to get rid of them anyway.  Thanks

If they are caused by weight warping the bed, the dents should be outies (more like outward creases).

If the dents are innies, then it was caused by external forces.
