Retractable running boards or not?

Having trouble locating the vehicle of choice. Removing the retractable running boards from the mix DRAMATICALLY improves my options but I really like the look when they are retracted...any feedback on their functionality?

The retractable boards are great, but I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on a truck without them. There are excellent aftermarket options for retractable boards.

If you live anywhere with snow and slush it's common for them to get frozen and not work right. I've seen trucks driving around where I'm from with one retracted and one not.

It makes the look so much better but i see your point.

They are awesome looking and I like the illumination. They are probably made with amp research input.
