Valentine's Day

It's here.  Just got back from the store, ended up spending over $50 on a card, some candies, and of course roses.  All this for a girl I'm not even going out with yet.  That is soon to change though  .  How about everyone else, what are you doing for your significant other for the dreaded Valentine's Day?  Well it might not be dreaded to everyone, but it sure is to all our wallets!

Sorry, but I'm in sort of the same situation as you, but I'll be damned if I'm going to spend 50 bucks without a little commitment first.  Thats plenty of money for a poor farmboy like me.

I don't know what is up with tomorrow though.  Maybe I'll get together with this girl I'm after, maybe not.  Maybe I'll do what I did last year and do some drinking, maybe not.  Can you tell I have no plans?

Don't really have any plans for tomorrow.  I think one of my buddies I haven't seen in a long time is running at a indoor track meet (college) about 40 miles from here, might go over and watch.  If not, I'll just sit around an finish up my homework I have been putting off.

But if I was really smart, tomorrow would be a really good day to go make some advances towards not being single anymore.     (are you listening to that Jp?)

Ya JP, Valentine's day is a great day to make your move, that's what I'm doing!!  Although $50 is kind of expensive, if this goes as planned I'll get the girl, unless she's a les and not bi like I've been told.  #### I've got two sets of roses so if she says ya theres a possibility of a 3rd!!

What, I wasn't paying attention.  Can you repeat that?

I don't quite know if I'd want to go watch guys running around in tight fitting clothes on Valentine's Day either.  It would just give us more ammo to use against you, remember that.

LOL,

I have all of you guys beat.  About 5 years ago, I was desperate to get my wife something for Valentines day.  She really like Rubies, so I went and bought her a pair of nice Ruby earrings.  Things were tight at the time, and the money I spent, could have been used for something better, so, my wife, returned them!

I was shocked, and a little hurt.  So, from that point on, NO MORE JEWELERY on Valentines day.  Last year, I bought her a set of steak knives!  They were really nice, J.A. Henkel.  She keeps alluding to the fact that she would like a nice little piece of jewelery, but NOPE, never again.

I just picked up her Valentines gift this evening.  It is a new Whirpool clothes dryer!  Woohoo, this thing has 5 temperature settings, a super size capacity, and a top filter!

Now don't go thinking that I am an insensitive dolt, I am planning on taking her out for a nice dinner tomorrow evening.  But NO JEWELERY!

Knives may have not been smart though.  If she gets too mad you've just supplied her weapons.

Ryan, make you own card, she'll like that even better.  I did that earlier this week for Becky's birthday, I made her one while I was bored in class and she loved it.

We're not getting each other anything for Valentine's Day.  We both know we're too poor being in college to do too much, and we're going to a concert Sunday, so we're saving money.

I spent way too much this year I think.  I've been seeing this girl for over 5 months now.  I spent around $150 yesterday...send half dozen roses to her work (nurse), $50 at Bath and Body Works, and a $50 gift certificate for Victoria's Secret (kinda a gift to myself too ;) )....but its worth it.  If I could have thought of something else, I would have done it too...
